What that actually means

Some of the links on this site go to products on Amazon.com. Those links are affiliate links, which means they carry a code identifying this site. If you click one and buy something, Amazon pays me a small percentage of the sale.

You are not charged anything extra. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you had gone to Amazon directly. The commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your pocket.

How I choose what to link to

A commission is not a reason to recommend something, and I've tried to build the site so that it never becomes one:

• I recommend categories of product first, and specific items second. The point of an article is usually "you need a wide bowl", not "you need this particular bowl".
• I say when something is optional, when a cheaper version is fine, and when you already own something that will do the job.
• Every article is written so it's useful if you buy nothing. If the advice only works when you spend money, it isn't good advice.
• Links are marked. Every affiliate link on this site opens in a new tab and is labeled as a paid link.

What I don't do

I don't accept payment from brands to be featured, I don't publish sponsored posts, and I don't sell links. If that ever changes, this page will change first, and any such content will be labeled clearly on the article itself.

Prices

You won't find prices quoted in the articles. Amazon's prices change constantly, and a number written months ago is more likely to mislead you than help. Click through and you'll see the current price.
